Sarah, well my dogs and Will get along great. Will chases them and grabs their ears, tails, whatever, and they lick his ears. So I don’t think it’s a disaster. But be forewarned: a puppy is like a baby, except furry.

When I got Snoopy, the older of the two, it was so much like when Will was 2-3 months – Snoopy would whine at 4 a.m. because he would need to go outside. Then again at 6:30 and at 8:30 before I went to work we’d have to take a long walk. A few more jaunts in the evening when I got home too.

Oh, and they don’t get good control of their excretions until about 6 months or so, so expect an accident or two.

But hey, training a dog is good practice for toilet training. Similar methodology – you take the dog to a spot that you deem the pee spot and stand there until he goes. When he’s done, you praise him like he just won the Nobel Peace Prize.
