I can’t wait for summer to be here with its warm sunny days and all the things that brings. I am looking forward to spending more time outside, tending to my garden and growing all sorts of vegetables. I cannot wait to enjoy fresh produce from my own garden.

In the winter I create all sorts of complicated, multi-step dishes. But come summer, it’s time for cool food and simple preparations. For me, summer eating is about simple things – bare fruits eaten by hand, cool salsas and barbecued foods. That’s exactly what you can expect to be seeing here over the next few months.

Now for other news:

I’ve been keeping quiet about a few projects I’ve taken on, in anticipation. But I am silent no more. I’ve started writing for the Well Fed Network. You can check out my first story on seasoning cast-iron pans for Paper Palate here (EDITED to add: WellFed is now defunct and there are no archives — 6/1/2011). And please, do check it out.
