What does Cucina Bella mean?

This question is one that brings a surprising number of people here to Cucina Bella. So, I figured I would address it once and for all.

DEFINITION
Cucina Bella is an Italian phrase meaning beautiful kitchen.

WHY IS THIS BLOG CALLED CUCINA BELLA?
When I was mulling over potential names about a year ago, I decided to pay homage to my own beautiful kitchen. When my husband and I purchased our home two years ago, we immediately renovated the kitchen area so that it was my perfect working space. Over time the kitchen has adapted as my cooking needs have changed, but it is still my very own beautiful kitchen. I considered French and Spanish versions of this name, but ultimately settled on the Italian rendition because I liked the way it translated the best. Considering I do cook many Italian dishes, it seemed to fit.

ARE YOU ITALIAN?
I am American first and foremost, but yes I am 50% Italian. I am also French, German and an array of other European descents.
