Great recipe. Abby, I am also gluten sensitive so anytime I make meatballs, I use oatmeal instead of breadcrumbs. Works great and adds whole grains. I usually have to add a bit more than breadcrumbs though, almost double. Thanks for a great recipe and for the nutritional info.

Hi, I also searched for a good turkey recipe and found this one. The meatballs are in the oven. I am making them for a friend who has spent much time comforting her mother with brain cancer. Don't worry, I'll save some for my family too. It looks great. Have you ever tried cooking the meatballs and sauce and freezing them (separately I'd assume) and reheating them at a later date? It seems like it could work.

I searched for recipes doing something interesting with ground turkey and made these tonight. They were really awesome . . . I can't have gluten, so I used some cornmeal instead of panko, but it was fine. The green peppers really make it and I also spiced it up a little bit with about a teaspoon of chili paste! Thanks!

Karen, I am so glad you -- and your daughter and her friends -- liked them! I love getting feedback on my recipes.

I haven't made these since last winter but I think these will be hitting our menu this week. Yum.

Wow. I made these last night because I had the ground turkey, ginger and pineapple on hand. My 9-year-old took leftovers in her school lunch and now I'm handing the recipe out to other third graders by request. A winner!
