In Sweden we already pay like 2.50 dollar for a liter of petrol. I think one gallon is approximately four liters. You can make that up yourself how much it is for a gallon. I paid $4.33/gal yesterday whereas at the beginning of this year, it was... $3.50? A couple people said it will hit $8/gal by the end of this year... not sure about that though, seems a little unreasonable for it to jump up that much in 6 months...
