I've got broccoli about the same size as yours, a couple tomato plants, and a couple peppers. I also have a garden plot where I just planted a bunch of sunflowers, and a flower box with basil and edible flowers. I plan to add zucchini, bush beans, and maybe an eggplant or more peppers. I love having fresh peppers!

Last year, my broccoli was pretty sad--just a few little flowers here and there. I'm hoping some extra fertilizer will help.

Cate, I can't wait for herbs either! I am trying to decide if it's a bad idea to screw an herb box to my porch railing...not sure.

Lori, I LOVE chard. That's a really great idea. Now I am going to have to look out for it. RE: keeping critters away - putting up some sort of a protective barrier is one of our projects for this week. Need to measure first though.

I'd plant Swiss Chard! You sure have some great areas for planting. Are you able to keep critters away easily?

I'm horrible w/ veggies, but I can manage a tomato plant in a pot and numerous herbs planted around our yard.

Looks like you're making great progress! I scooped up a bunch of pots from a neighbor's garage sale today, so I'm looking forward to planting more next week. Can't wait until the fresh herbs start growing!
