I will definitely give this seasoning a try... I hate seeing all those "extra" ingredients in the seasoning packets.

Jessica @ How Sweet -- I totally agree!

Jessica, that's how I feel too. Why not? It takes seconds to pull it all together and then you know what's in it.

Donna, although I do use smoked paprika, I am not a huge fan of it. Also, this is chili powder, not chile -- which is way hotter.

I love cumin in anything - I think it is my favorite savory spice! I have one thought - have you tried smoked paprika instead of chile powder? It has a wonderful smoky flavor without so much heat.

Thank you for this! I am also trying to avoid the pre-made packets. I already have the spices in my pantry, so why not make it myself? And I love that it works with 1.25 lbs of meat, since that's how they package ground turkey in the supermarket, for some reason. My husband I do love spicy food, but our 5 year old does not (the baby eats anything). That's what Cholula hot sauce is for!

Thank you so much for this!! I can't use the seasoning packets anymore because they are just SO salty. I have been doing mostly cumin, but it's not the same. Been looking for a great seasoning.
