Eat. Live. Be. For a Better 2011: Compliments

| July 12, 2011 | 1 Comment

The Eat. Live. Be. For a Better 2011 topic is compliments. The greatest one we’ve received lately. The one that built us up and made us brim with excitement.

First, a little about me and compliments. I wish I could say that I fall among those that accept compliments graciously, saying just the right thing. But compliments have always made me uncomfortable. Like I’m in the spotlight for that second and I just can’t wait to escape because it’s improper or something. It’s taken a lot of practice to accept compliments with a simple thank you, kindly. But I can now.

My greatest compliment recently was at a party recently when a woman who I’ve known for years and years remarked on my incredible weight loss since she last saw me 10 months ago. It was validating. Exciting, Amazing.

I haven’t lost that much — 10 lbs since the start of ELB and 15 lbs since last year — but it’s something. A big something. And something that is being noticed. I couldn’t stop smiling.

What’s the greatest compliment you’ve received lately?
