Wrap-Up: Listerine’s Oral Care Challenge #SweetSmart

| November 2, 2012 | 2 Comments

Back in the beginning of October, I told you about Listerine’s Oral Care Challenge, which challenges us to brush, floss and rinse twice a day. My kids and I took the challenge and embarked on a three week journey. Then we entered week four — the week after the challenge ended — and we didn’t stop.

When I agreed to take part in this, I thought it would be a good way to get ourselves into good habits before Halloween and the holidays came. What I didn’t count on was that we would all be so into it. Over the last month, the kids and I have brushed, flossed and rinsed twice a day nearly every day.

At first, there was excitement about the new brushes and cool bottles. The kids were so thrilled to use the special Listerine rinses for kids. The magic did wear off a little and there was a touch of dragging … but we pushed through. And still — to this day — they excitedly tell me when they use their rinse and have no little bits of dyed anything in the sink. And the flossing? That’s something too. Frankly, I never thought I would see the day when the kids and I would all floss regularly without complaint. But we do.

For all of us, this is has been the start of great new oral habits. Although we’ve long been a brush-twice-a-day family, adding the flossing and the rinsing in means that our mouths are cleaner than ever. That is a good thing. And the fact that we aren’t stopping just because the challenge is over? Even better.

I urge you to take the challenge. It’s so worth it.

Disclosure: I am receiving compensation as well as a box of Listerine and Reach products to participate in the challenge. All opinions are my own.
