First Taste of Green Giant’s Veggie Snack Chips

Can I tell you something? I love crunchy snacks. A lot. I try not to eat them too often, but when I have a sandwich I really want something crunchy on the side.

So when Clever Girls reached out and asked if I would be part of Green Giant’s big surprise reveal for a fabulous crunchy snack product, I said okay. How could I say no?

About that big surprise. I’m used to Green Giant in the freezer section of the grocery store. And perhaps the canned goods aisle. But now … they are in the chip aisle too. Green Giant’s big new surprise is their Veggie Snack Chips. They come in three varieties:

  • Green Giant™ Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips – Zesty Cheddar Flavor
  • Green Giant™ Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips – Sea Salt Flavor
  • Green Giant Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips

When they arrived, I couldn’t wait to dive in and see how this veggie company does snacks.

multigrain sweet potato chips

I tried the Multigrain Sweet Potato with Sea Salt variety first. They reminded me of crisps — which is a slightly different texture than traditional potato chips (but one of my favorites, nonetheless). They’re super crunchy, but aren’t as hard as other sweet potato chips (a good thing!). Also, the contrast of sweet and saltiness is perfect for snacking on in the afternoon. Or whenever. Verdict? I love these. Absolutely love them. And what’s kind of awesome about these chips is that they have 14 grams of whole grain per serving.

I also tried the Zesty Cheddar flavor, which is sort of a mix between cheddar-y snacks and ranch seasoning. My kids are going to be psyched about them when I pack them with their lunches tomorrow. They are huge ranch fans. And since they are made with real veggies and have 17 grams of whole grain per serving, I don’t have to feel too guilty about packing snack food for them alongside their fruit and sandwiches.

You can find these in the chip aisle at grocery stores (mine is already carrying them!). Also, you can connect with the big green guy via Green Giant’s Facebook page or their YouTube channel. And psst! Green Giant is sharing surprise talents on their social media streams right now too — FUN!

These are really unhealthy. Check out the ingredients list. I may as well eat my regular chips. The amount of vegetables you’re getting with a serving of this is less than a 1″ piece of bell pepper. A total gimmick.
