Easy Apple Strawberry Slushies Recipe

Apple Strawberry Slushies

I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop and creation of a fun healthy drink has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias and their client.

Do you ever have silly fun with the kids in your life? We do. Sometimes Shawn and I will surprise the kids with sneak water gun attacks. In fact, I joined in a spray fest with my kids and their friends last weekend — the gleeful yelps as they soaked me were the best.

Other times, I will keep details of fun things secret just so that I can drive the kids batty with wonder. Like when they ask where we are going. It could just be a trip to the library, but adding a secretiveness to it makes it so much more fun. I’m also the first one to get down in the sand with the kids to make sandcastles. I just can’t help myself.

Silly fun is the best.

Today the kids and I had a bit of silly fun too. See, I was asked to participate in a special project where I had to go to a store and buy some Juicy Juice products and other Monsters University branded items. It was fun to begin with (check out our Google+ Album of the shopping trip). But when we got home, the silliness started. Next thing you know, the talking plush Sully doll was being photographed trying to sip the slushie we made, sitting with Paige and more. It was just plain fun.

First, let’s talk about this slushie — it’s a healthy drink alternative to the convenience store ones and so easy to make.

ingredients for apple strawberry slushies

Paige and I whipped up this easy Apple Strawberry Slushie in just minutes. It’s made with equal parts Juicy Juice Apple Juice, frozen strawberries and ice. Then it just whirls in a blender until the ice and frozen berries are pulverized.

That’s it.

A few minutes, and you’re done. On humid days like today, this is such a fantastic treat. And as a mom, I love that it’s fun but also a healthy drink since it’s just juice, fruit and ice. No added sugar. Just three simple ingredients.

Sully and the Slushie

When we were done, I spooned it into three glasses. This recipe serves three, which I know is a weird serving size, but it’s easily adjustable (as a rule of thumb you’ll want 1/3 cup of each ingredient per serving). Then Sully, our Monsters University plush doll (he talks!) had to get a closer look.

Sully drinking a slushie

We moved to the dining room to enjoy our slushies and Sully tried to drink Paige’s. We were all, “No, Sully, no!”

Sully Always Watching

No worries though, she totally took control of the situation.

Will Enjoying a Slushie

Will just sipped away through the whole thing.

Is this whole thing totally silly? Absolutely. But it’s also totally fun. And hey — it’s summer break. Isn’t summer break all about the silly fun?

Monsters University Giveaway

In a little more serious news, when we finished our slushies, I headed to the computer to redeem Juicy Juice Monster-Sized Sweepstakes codes that were on the Monsters University branded Juicy Juice products. We got a free comic strip from the apple juice and a music download from a set of juice boxes that I also bought. If you happen to pick up Monsters University Juicy Juice products, be sure to redeem yours too at JuicyJuice.com.

Be sure to check out the Disney Facebook Page for more fun.

I don't think I've ever had any strawberry and apple juice together. That sounds delish!

I have such a thing for slushies. I make smoothies at home all the time, I don't know why I've never realized I can make slushies.
