Holiday Baking with Pompeian Grapeseed Oil

There are some food-related things that I go big on. Thanksgiving, obviously. But also Christmas cookies and other holiday treats. The holiday season just doesn’t feel complete if I haven’t baked four or five varieties of cookies, two varieties of biscotti and assorted other goodies. Typically, I make a ton and then gift them to family and friends.

Many years, I also make big treat baskets for my husband’s coworkers too. I love hearing about how they react to some of my favorite recipes — like Toffee Crunch Cookies.

I also usually make something delicious and chocolatey for Christmas dessert — like my Chocolate Buttermilk Holiday Cake. It’s a bundt that is lightly glazed with a delicious chocolate drizzle. It can also be finished off with a sprinkle of crushed peppermint on top — but that is totally optional.

The key with this bundt (or any bundt, for that matter) is to ensure it releases easily from the pan. Even though my bundt pan is nonstick, I like to give it a little extra help to ensure the cake slides out. That can mean greasing it with butter and dusting with flour before adding the cake batter, but I love when

Pompeian, an affordable brand of oils and sprays, has recently introduced a new spray that could make holiday baking a little easier and better. Pompeian Grapeseed Oil spray has a light flavor and is rich in Vitamin E and antioxidants. While I haven’t yet tried this yet, with a higher smoke point (that means the temperature at which it begins to smoke. For comparison value, olive oil’s is much lower) and convenient spray bottle, this seems like something that would make greasing and flouring a pan a speedy process.

The Grapeseed Oil spray from Pompeian is made from 100% grapeseed oil imported from France, and can be used for baking, frying, sauteing and more.

Baking for Better Challenge

Pompeian is also having a special Baking for Better Challenge too — but it ends tomorrow. Still, you have time to enter the challenge by following @Pompeian on Instagram, uploading a photo to Instagram showing how you’re giving their baked goods a tune up with Grapeseed Oil Spray, using the #Bake4Better hashtag and tagging @Pompeian.

The company is looking for the most innovative photo — as decided by Duff Goldman (yes, the funky pastry chef!). The winner will receive a $5,000 donation in the name to their local food bank and a Pompeian gift basket to continue baking better all year long.
