When my family and I moved last summer, I gave up an enormous kitchen that was perfect for all my cooking and photographing needs in favor of a house that better fit everyone’s needs. In doing so, I also agreed to work in a tiny kitchen with limited counter and cabinet space. It was a pretty big change for me — but ultimately a good one because the house is just so much better for us. We all have space now, which means that there’s less of the oh-my-goodness-I-am-surrounded incidents that happen when your family outgrows a home. That’s a good thing.
But back to the kitchen.
Just before we moved into the house, the tiny kitchen received a beautiful makeover. The ancient white cabinets, odd silver counter tops (which had worn away to reveal red beneath and unusual metallic walls were replaced with rich cherry cabinets, smooth granite and a subway tile back-splash. Having such a pretty kitchen makes the size not sting quite as much.
Since we have very little counter space, I use every inch of it just about every day. And because my work involves creating caramels, frying bacon and whipping up creamy but messy sauces (and that’s just today!), our counters often get pretty funky. A fast, easy and effective cleaning method is essential to my sanity. Seriously, folks.
Enter Granite Gold. I was introduced to this product line about a month ago — and I am in love with the products, which are all natural and safe for food prep areas. The Daily Cleaner is absolutely perfect for cleaning up even the most stubborn and sticky of messes (cough, like the caramel that found its way onto the counter this morning … cough, cough). I also love the all-surface cleaner for keeping my stainless fridge sparkly and my stove — which gets a crazy workout daily — nice and clean.
Look how shiny my granite is! That’s seriously what I think every time I wipe down the counters with this product.
