When I was fresh out of college, I would shop so often that I seldom knew when (and sometimes where) I bought clothing in my closet. Sometimes, the clothing would even take me by surprise (lace camis, I am talking to you).
But everything changes as you get older and have more responsibility. Maybe the money is tighter. Maybe the clothes are tighter. Maybe you don’t have time or desire or care to shop. Or maybe you shop more. Whatever it is, something changes.
Eventually, I stopped looking to shopping as a pastime and instead focused more on buying things I loved. I wanted every piece I purchased to make me feel good.
And this dress, bought in 2007 at New York & Company does that. It’s a faux wrap with a wide-V neckline, and perfectly cute and sweet alone. But dressing it up with a black cardi, a wide belt and boots gives it a more sophisticated feel.
I love this dress. And I love this outfit.
