When the idea for Sarah by the Sea came to me, it was a dark and dreary time — a winter month with short days and cold temperatures that was underscored by a major gig ending after years. I was in a low place, trying to answer the “what now?” question. The idea of this new site where I could bring together my loves — writing, style, home and the beach (and eventually food too) — was a beacon of hope.
Because this project is so important to me — and so close to my heart — everything from its inception on is an important part of the site. So I am going to do something a little unusual. I am sharing the inspirations that are helping me craft this site, one piece at a time. Enjoy!
Sarah Walker Caron is a cookbook author, freelance writer and founder of Sarah’s Cucina Bella. She is the author of several cookbooks including The Super Easy 5-Ingredient Cookbook and One-Pot Pasta, both from Rockridge Press. A single mother to two kids in middle school, Sarah loves nightly family dinners, juicy tomatoes plucked fresh from the vine and lazy days on the beach. She also adores reading and traveling.
