Banana Berry Cookie Milkshake

Shh! Don’t tell my friends in Connecticut, but my kids get an extra week of summer vacation this year and I am thrilled. Why? Because here in Maine, school doesn’t start until September. That’s really exciting for me — I’ve always disliked having to augment our Augusts with back to school preparations. Plus our moving really started the summer off with a fizzle. So an extra week? I will take it.

Nonetheless, we’ve been tiptoeing into back to school shopping. It’s actually one of my favorite parts of back to school. New backpacks and lunchboxes are ready to go. A few school essentials are tucked inside too. There’s still new clothes and shoes to buy, and winter gear to get. (Speaking of which, if you have suggestions for must-have winter items for Maine, I am all ears.)

We already wake up on a schedule. The kids have slid into our new routine so easily, so that won’t be an issue come September. And packing lunches? I got that. In other words, I think we are ready.

But in the meantime, we are going to eek every last bit of fun out of this summer. And that includes surprising the kids with fun outings and tasty treats — like these Banana Berry Cookie Milkshakes.

My kids love when I make milkshakes. And milkshakes are crazy easy to whip up — so that’s kind of a win-win.

Making a Fruity Milkshake

These babies have a mere three ingredients, and are packed with flavor. Strawberry ice cream is swirled with a banana and International Delight Cold Stone Creamery Hot for Cookie Creamer, creating a creamy, fruit filled, refreshing drink. It’s perfect for sharing. Using coffee creamer is a great way to change up milkshakes, adding fun nuances of flavor.

And seriously, the squeals of delight? Totally worth the two minutes it takes to make this.
