Disclosure: I am a paid contributor to Sun-Maid’s blog.
When I signed my kids up for a cooking class last spring, there was a little grumble about not being consulted first. But they ended up loving it — and this fall, my son signed up all on his own for another one. In the classes, he’s learned a lot about cooking, creating and found that he loves to cook too … which is pretty awesome.
Better yet? One of the recipes he made there was so tasty that he came home and made it for his sister and me. And then he inspired me to create these Pumpkin Raisin Turnovers.
All of this taught me a few lessons … beginning with giving kids room to choose their own way.
