Welcome to week 5 of Weekend Farmers’ Market Blogging. This weekly series is about promoting the joys of eating locally — both through farmers’ markets and by growing your own food.
Garden Update
Everything is coming in quickly. The first cabbage is ready to be harvested, the tomatoes are plump and pretty and the radishes just keep on coming in!
Farmers’ Market Recipes from Around the Web
Weekend Farmers’ Market Blogging is open to anyone who wants to blog about eating locally. Find out more here. No one submitted this week, but I did find a few worthwhile recipes around the web …
- Got zucchini? It’s just coming in here and I can’t wait to start cooking with it. Kalyn at Kalyn’s Kitchen already is. Her recipe for Low-Carb Easy Cheesy Zucchini Bake looks delightful.
- Speaking of zucchini, Joanne at Eats Well with Others is also cooking with this tasty summer veggie. Her recipe for Savory Brown Butter Zucchini Cornbread Muffins looks divine.
- Are watermelons in season yet where you are? They aren’t here, but will be … soonish. So when I saw that Barb at Creative Culinary shared a recipe for Watermelon Margaritas, I had to share.
- Dara at Cookin’ Canuck has a recipe for Pesto Butter Corn on the Cob that has me drooling. YUM.

I really need to make watermelon margaritas. I keep meaning to, but then end up grabbing a beer.
