Strawberry-Banana Green Smoothie Recipe

Sure, this smoothie looks green, but the flavor is all fresh strawberries and sweet banana. This Strawberry-Banana Green Smoothie recipe is not to be missed.

When my kids were younger, we made a lot of smoothies. Sometimes they were berries and yogurt. Other times, we added bananas or pineapple or whatever fruit we had on hand.

Eventually, we started experimenting more. Mango wasn’t a favorite. Ginger overpowered all other flavors. But apples could work as a natural sweetener without impacting the overall flavor.

And while kale makes smoothies taste earthy, spinach adds vitamins and color without impacting overall flavor.

It’s with that knowledge that this Strawberry-Banana Green Smoothie recipe entered the rotation in our house.

It’s naturally sweet, thanks to the banana, but has the clear fruitiness of strawberries too. The yogurt adds some creaminess (and a touch of sweetness too). And the coconut water thins it out, making this a straw-worthy drink.

This recipe calls for frozen strawberries, because of the coolness they bring to the smoothie. But you could freeze freshly picked strawberries just for making smoothies. That would make the flavor even better.

And the spinach adds nutrients to the mix (so does that coconut water!) without impacting the flavor.

It’s delightful. And it’s so easy to make. Just add the ingredients to a blender, blend and serve.

I like to add a strawberry garnish for fun, but you don’t have to. This Strawberry-Banana Green Smoothie is good either way.

Do you make a lot of smoothies in your house?
