1. The Bungalow by Sarah Jio – Liked this a lot. It’s a beautiful story of true love, friendship and betrayal set in WWII. 1/1/2012
2. Why Women Need Fat: How “Healthy” Food Makes Us Gain Excess Weight and the Surprising Solution to Losing It Forever by William D. Lassek, M.D. and Steven Gaulin, Ph.D. – This one was eye-opening. It’s an anti-diet book that talks about natural weight and how returning to an early 20th Century diet can help you get there — without counting calories, depriving yourself or exercising constantly. Thought provoking. 1/12/2012
3. The Underside of Joy by Sere Prince Halverson – This is a story that requires your full attention. When a woman’s husband suddenly dies, she is forced to face the realities of their life and come to terms with her children’s biological mother — and her own past. 1/18/2012
4. Plate to Pixel: Digital Food Photography & Styling by Helene Dujardin – A total must-read for food bloggers and budding food photographers. This book is packed with good advice and really helpful examples of how to style and photograph food. Why didn’t I read it sooner? 1/29/2012
