I. Am. So. Excited.

See that in my hands? I wrote it! Every single word, every recipe, everything. It’s called The Super Easy 5-Ingredient Cookbook and it comes out in September from Rockridge Press.

I can’t wait to share it with the world.

In the meantime though, let me tell you about the book.

This is the cookbook for busy families, who want to eat wholesome dinners together. This is the cookbook for stressed single parents, who are doing their very best but need meals to be a little easier. This is the cookbook for just-out-of-college adults, who no longer have a meal plan or school cafeteria. This is the cookbook for anyone who wants to eat well but doesn’t have much time to do it.

It’s the cookbook I wish I had when my kids and I moved to Maine when we were figuring out life in a new state, with a new flow and new demands – just the three of us.

The Super Easy 5 Ingredient Cookbook is about cooking well while spending minimal time, effort, and money. It’s about how a handful of the right ingredients can make eating fresh easy every day. Focusing on cooking with whole foods, each recipe has only five ingredients or less. Better yet, many can be made in less than 30 minutes. It’s about recipes that make meal planning a cinch and getting dinner on the table even easier.

But it’s not just for dinner. It’s for breakfast, lunch, appetizers and dessert too.

Recipes include Crab Cake Bites, an appetizer that’s perfect for serving at your next dinner party before dinner’s ready.

They’re also tasty alongside salads like the Asparagus and Carrot Ribbon Salad.

It also includes mug recipes like this Blueberry Muffin Mug Cake, an easy and comforting breakfast that can be ready in way less than 5 minutes.

And did you spy those tacos on the cover? It’s one of my favorite recipes in the whole book.

This cookbook is so special to me because it’s very much how I cook for my family all the time – simple, but flavorful; quick, but not boring.

The Super Easy 5-Ingredient Cookbook comes out on September 18, 2018. It will be available from bookstores all over. Ask your local independent bookstore to order copies!

And if you’re local to the Bangor, Maine, area, join me at The Briar Patch, 27 Central Street, on Sept. 20 at 6pm for the official book launch party! Details can be found on the Facebook event.

Ma'am, you need to include photos of the completed dishes in your cookbook. I refuse to waste my hard-earned money on this piece of crap especially if the other recipes are as bland as the baked lemon-herb cod was. Sorry :(

Hi Karen, many cookbooks don't have photos of all (or even most) the recipes in them. From venerated classics like The Joy of Cooking and Mastering the Art of French Cooking to newer favorites like all of Ina Garten cookbooks, cookbook users decide what to make based on descriptions in the headnotes and ingredients in the dishes. And it's not a bad thing — images of recipes can be intimidating to newer cooks and those whose results don't mirror stylized photos. In any case, if you are looking for a picture cookbook, there's a wonderful older one called the Betty Crocker Picture Cookbook that has a lot of wonderful recipes in it. There's a roast with lots of garlic that's divine. You might also like Katie Workman's Dinner Solved or one of the Cooking Light cookbooks. They have a slow cooker one that I adore — so many recipes earmarked! One last note on the number of images in a cookbook: the decision of how many images to include lies with the publisher not the author. In terms of the recipe you mention, sorry to hear you didn't like the light, citrus-herbal flavor of that dish. It's meant to be delicate, not overpowering. But there are plenty of other recipes on my site here with bolder flavors that you might enjoy. If you have an adventurous palate, I would recommend the bulgogi salmon recipe. It's a favorite. And PS — we're all friends here — you can call me Sarah.
