Savory Apple Honey Barbecue Pulled Pork

Robust and rich, this Savory Apple Honey Barbecue Pulled Pork can be enjoyed in so many ways. But while the sauce is made with apple juice and honey, it’s more savory.

When it comes to big gatherings and dishes to bring to potlucks, pulled pork is one of my favorites to show up with. It’s so easy. You just combine ingredients in a slow cooker and let it cook low and slow. But it’s also so beloved, customizable and delicious. You can literally make pulled pork dozens of ways with a slow cooker alone.

It’s all abut the flavors.

Savory Apple Honey Barbecue Pulled Pork is a great example of how pulled pork can be unexpected in its flavors. This is made with a more savory barbecue sauce that’s flavored with hints of miso, ginger, rosemary and thyme. It’s rich and robust, but not cloyingly sweet.

In terms of serving, I love Savory Apple Honey Barbecue Pulled Pork on toasted hamburger buns. But there are so many ways to have this. Try it over baked potatoes, sweet potatoes or polenta. It can also be piled onto pizza, enjoyed on other rolls and even on salads.

And don’t forget the topping possibilities. Pulled pork is great with cheddar cheese and/or coleslaw — either classic coleslaw or oil and vinegar coleslaw.

So whether you are prepping for a big game potluck, thinking ahead to summer gatherings or hoping to get all the friends together just because, consider pulled pork as your contribution. It will totally be a hit.
