Oh, 2022. You were something. On this site, the year can be traced through the work published here. In 2022, I worked on new guides and tutorials like my how-to on making really good open-faced sandwiches. I published new recipes that gave something fresh to the cooking landscape like my Beet Salad with Mint Vinaigrette recipe (a personal favorite!) and my Lobster Poke Bowl with Pickled Vegetables recipe. And I rounded up seasonal recipes to help home cooks like you find what you were looking for.
In all, I published 40 new posts on Sarah’s Cucina Bella including 23 new recipes.
On a site that’s been helping home cooks eat well easily for more than 17 years, that’s not a lot. But it’s also what I needed to do this year.
Publishing is a hustle and taking a breath like I did this year is a gamble. Fortunately, this site has more than 1,000 published recipes and even more tutorials, guides and roundups. So I could step back and still have so much for readers to enjoy. Now, I am ready for a more robust 2023.
This year, I spent a lot of time thinking about what this site is and what it wants to be. I considered what I am adding to the food discussion happening every day. And I considered what it is about this site that makes me happy.
I want to teach people to cook well using easy methods. As I do, I want to share recipes for good food that’s exciting and a little different. There are so many sites you can turn to recipes so I want you to think of mine as something special — and something reliable. And I want everything I share here, above all, to be useful. Those are the things I will focus on next year as I aim to create and share more recipes, more tutorials and more thoughts on food.
